A lot of things fascinate me, on the top of my list is how yam and pounded yam can taste so different yet so great lmao. The one I’m writing about today though is compounding, no not the finance one. I mean when little things add up. The principle of compounding is evident in the way I live my life, in the content I create and in how I do basically anything.
I firmly believe that big things happen when you do the little things right, and how you do the little things is how you do the big things. I like to view life through the lens of compounding, I’m often not trying to do big things per time, don’t get me wrong I have massive dreams, they are broken down into ridiculously tiny steps.
A very good example of how I applied this principle to the work I do, is how I release content. I knew from the start that I’ll send newsletters, blog, make videos and probably podcast. I didn’t start doing all these things at once, I mastered consistently posting on Instagram before I started a newsletter, and mastered newsletter sending before I started a blog, I’ll probably not start a YouTube or a podcast next tomorrow, until I have consistently dropped valuable content on here.
You see if I wasn’t faithful in creating Instagram content there’s absolutely no way you’d be reading my blog because you either won’t know I exist or I haven’t proved that I can deliver value to you.
Whatever it is you’re doing now, big or small, be faithful, everything you do compounds and you’d look back one day and realize that each piece fits the bigger puzzle. Till then, stay jiggy.
